Banana pudding is one of my favorite desserts of all time. I’ve always loved it, but ever since I tried Magnolia Bakery’s pudding I became a TRUE believer. Now if something comes in banana flavor, I will get it. Banana cake, banana taffy, bananas foster, you name it.

Out of all of the banana dessert options out there, I noticed one was missing: cookies! I’d never once had a banana cookie, and since I’ve cut out dairy, I had to come up with a way to get my banana pudding fix without any milk. That’s when the idea came to me – a soft, chewy cookie with all the things banana pudding brings to the table. Chunks of Nilla wafer, a little bit of chewy or crunchy banana (depending on what type you can find), and a punch of banana flavor.

To make these super delicious and EASY cookies, you will need:
- One bag of sugar cookie mix – and ingredients required. For example:
- One egg
- One stick of butter or margarine
- 1/2 box Nilla wafer cookies (crushed)
- 1 cup banana chips or dehydrated banana slices (crushed)
- 1 tsp banana extract
I followed the packaging directions on how high to set my oven and how long to bake the cookies. To add the Nilla wafer and banana chips, simply crush them and add to the dry ingredients. Add the banana extract when you mix in the wet ingredients.
I thought about adding chopped walnuts or white chocolate chips, but these cookies shine on their own without any extras, but I do encourage you to mix it up!
Would you make these cookies?
Let me know in the comments if you do! I’d love to hear your thoughts.
They sound delicious for someone who loves bananas. I\’m not crazy about certain banana tastes after guzzling banana-flavored medicine years ago for a procedure (lol), but I think they sound great for people like my dad who eats bananas faster than you can say \”monkey.\” Love that you made them though and I think the added wafers are such a good idea! I hope I don\’t sound like a Debbie Downer on this post!
I totally get that! I’d love to try to make other desserts into cookies too, maybe those will be more up your alley 😉
