I’ve gotten back in the saddle when it comes to art and crafting! I’m so glad to have my creative spark back, and to be able to pick up the brush again. I’ve had a lot of art projects going on, but my favorite is definitely my watercolor macarons. I started this on a whim one day while watching Netflix, and within a few hours it blossomed into an exciting creative pursuit for me!

After working on the line art, I decided on my colors and started filling in with the paints. I used variations of light and dark to make the contours of the cookie, and layered the paint to make it more flakey and realistic looking!

At this point, I really wanted some macarons! Maybe I’ll have to go get some in the near future 😛

aaaand the finished product! There were a few spots I thought needed work, but I really like how it turned out. What dessert should I paint next?
This is so pretty and I love that you shared progress photos! I've always wanted to learn how to paint. I definitely go through creative ups and downs and I love being in phases full of ideas 🙂
I love this!
Very beautiful painting, I love your choice of using watercolours! x

I always admire the artists out there….even my stick men are wonky! They look great – love all the different shades that add depth. I hope I'll be able to find my craft niche soon!
Thanks for sharing 🙂

So nice and refreshing to see another watercolor artist in my blog feed!! I have just started the long descent into watercolor from acrylics and I love it.
This is such a pretty painting. I don't know why, but "empire biscuits" popped into my head are what you should paint next!

I love that! It would be so adorable hanging in a kitchen! Off topic, but when I was in school those were my absolute favorite mechanical pencils, haha 🙂
