What’s not to love about Gingham? It’s the perfect summer print, is light and airy, and totally screams Americana. I’d been obsessed with finding a gingham top ever since I saw this photo of Liz Taylor rocking one in yellow. So naturally, I found one at a thrift store, and every time I wear it I feel like a glamorous picnic blanket.
With my Liz Taylor inspiration and a little help from Modcloth, I put this little outfit together and it might just be my favorite thing I’ve worn in a long time. Not only is the Bugle Joy skirt a fabulous red color (my favorite) it’s so comfortable, is lightweight without being too sheer, and has that 50s poodle skirt vibe that I can’t resist. I think it will be making it’s way into my wardrobe come fall as well!
I kept it simple with accessories, just a few thin silver bracelets, a red lip, and tortoise shell sunglasses. And for the pièce de résistance… THE SHOES!! I wore these to a conference in NYC and got so many compliments both on Instagram and in person. They’re a slightly chunky heel so they’re a dream to walk in, and who doesn’t love a good bow?!
